Hi Lantry!!, Great Shoot!! What did ya' use for "Bait??" Great "follow up," "how to start a DC-3!!" Wish I had a nickle for every time I was in or around one of the many DC's we had for Skydivin' back in the late 70's into the 80's around the USA!! 817, 985, "Mike Alpha," "Mister Douglas," and who can forget N157Undertaker aka N157Ugly!!! Check out U-toob for "The last flight of 57U" at Scare-Us-Valley, I was on it!!!! After it burned and eventually go hauled off, we went out to the spot on the dirt runway where it burned and picked up chunks of melted aluminum in the dirt!!! BSBD, III%, skybill-out
That wasn't me. Just a video somebody posted on the 24 Hour Campfire. Speaking of DC-3s, I've never been on one but there used to be one at a private airfield near here that had dropped paratroopers at Normandy. Sometime in the 1980s or thereabouts the owner landed it at the airfield and just walked away from it. Then he died and his widow wouldn't even talk to anyone about selling the plane. I haven't been over to see of its still there for several years. Might have to go do that the next time I'm in its neck of the woods.
