Yep. I went there as a kid probably 45 years ago. Went back 2 - 3 years ago and took that picture from the boat that took the tour group to the fort. I have another one taken about a minute later that was in bright sunshine but I always liked the rainy one better.
I've been there. They got Alligators and mosquitoes aplenty. Seriously defensible, though.
ReplyDeleteThat's Fort Matanzas, about 20 miles south of St Augustine. The tour of the fort is informative and well worth the hour spent on the island.
