Purim: A Sort of Second Amendment Holiday

Today is the holiday of Purim.

And it is no accident that Benjamin Netanyahu referenced this Jewish holiday when delivering his powerful address to the U.S. Senate in his unsuccessful bid to curb Obama’s embrace of a nuclear Iran.

Purim is an old ( 5th century B.C.E.) but agonizingly familiar story: A Jew-hater named Haman hatches a plan to annihilate the Jewish people in the ancient kingdom of Persia.

That Genocide Thing. Again.

Most of the Jews in this multicultural Persian kingdom have been enlightened to the point where they enthusiastically attend royal feasts and gorge themselves off the golden plates and cups looted from the holy Jewish Temple in Jerusalem.

These court Jews have evolved past that old, tired Judaism. They’re all new-agey, progressive. They know with arrogant certainty that Jewish history has moved beyond the old paradigms. It’s kumbaya time, Persian style.

Blog Roll Addition

I ran across a new blog yesterday while looking for a RKBA-type sticker for my car.   She only has two posts so far but she seems to have something to say.

I thought I'd add it to my blog roll.  I ain't gonna be much help to her myself but maybe some of the real bloggers  will notice and give her some traffic.

The link goes to a site that sells stickers and such.  Her blog, The Patriotic Cowgirl,  is listed on their header.  I can't get a link that goes directly to her blog.

Saint Patrick's Day Studebaker

St. Patrick's Day 1966.  The day the last Studebaker rolled off the assembly line.  As of midnight tonight, every Studebaker automobile will be over 50 years old.

For those with reading comprehension issues, I'm not saying that the last Studebaker built was a 1940-something truck.    Its the only picture of a green Studebaker that I had.  St. Patrick's Day.  Green.
